LSU School of Coast and the Environment Seminar

Title: Fundamental Studies on Combustion By-Products and the Application to Environmental Problems

Presenter: Wonnam Lee, Ph.D. Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dankook University

When: Friday, January 23, 2015,11:30 – 12:30

Where: Woods Auditorium, Energy Coast & Environment Building, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge

Abstract: Fundamental combustion studies associated with soot formation/oxidation characteristics in diffusion flames, flame instabilities, and the emission of combustion by-products such as PM, VOC, and NOx have been conducted utilizing variety of laboratory flames and flow reactors. The laboratory scale experimental studies and their application to understanding the effects of combustion by-products on environmental problems such as the albedo of PM covered snow/ice in arctic area and VOC emission from ship to atmosphere will be discussed.
